Overview

The Food and Nutrition Security Policy seeks to ensure the availability and accessibility of adequate, affordable, safe and nutritious food for all people at all times in the Cayman Islands, especially the vulnerable, to meet their dietary and food preferences for an active and healthy life.

The policy involves the identification and analysis of the contributing factors undermining food and nutrition security in the Islands and the crafting of measures to comprehensively address the underlying issues.

  • The health and wellbeing of its people.
  • The expanding and devastating public health dilemma and related disease burden.
  • The rising food import bill.
  • Access to safe quality food sources.

How Your Information Will Be Used

Feedback will help to validate and capture any additional contributing factors that impact food and nutrition security and require addressing to determine the scope of work. Initial feedback on proposed measures will help to guide their further development and implementation.
